My daughter Sofia was born with a condition called cranio facial nasal dysplasia syndrome. At 10 months old she underwent skull surgery at the BC Children’s hospital here in Canada to open both side sutures that had fused prematurely. She also had her forehead bone brought forward to give her head a more normal natural shape. She had her surgery December 22nd 2015 early in the morning. The surgery itself lasted four hours with no complications. On the 26th of December we were discharged from the hospital and able to come home. It is now 5 days later and Sofia is slowly becoming the giggly baby she once was. The swelling from the procedure has come down quite a bit and she is now able to see out of both eyes fairly well.
I was very happy with my daughters surgery team and feel very relieved that the medical procedure is finally over. I’d like to mention that this site Cranio Care Bears was very informative. I liked the fact that they showed before and after photos of other patients who have undergone this surgery as well. On top of that, this site was extremely kind to send us a little care/ gift package for our daughter. I’d like to say a big thank you!
