Aaden

When Aaden was born, we thought there was something not quite right about his head shape, but didn’t think too much of it–he was perfect to us! At his 6 month check up, our pediatrician noticed that his soft spot was closing. A few days later Aaden had a CT scan that confirmed that he had sagittal craniosynostosis. We were referred to a neurosurgeon, and the neurosurgeon said he was on the line about whether he was severe enough to have surgery or not & wanted to see him back in 2 months. When we went back, the neurosurgeon & craniofacial surgeon both said that they recommended that we do the surgery. On August 12, 2010 and 10 months old, Aaden had CVR surgery & forehead reconstruction. Surgery went well, and he looked so great! I had prepared myself for lots of swelling, but he didn’t swell much at all. Within 4 days after surgery, he was our happy baby again!
